Chief Operating Officer Appointed by Sunshine Heart

Sydney, Australia.: Sunshine Heart, Inc. (ASX: SHC) today announced the appointment of Victor Windeyer as Chief Operating Officer of the Company. He will take up this position in January 2006.
"Mr Windeyer will be a great asset to Sunshine Heart with his experience in medical device development as well as cardiac heart assistance" said Sunshine Heart's CEO, Don Rohrbaugh.
Mr Windeyer was recently Program Manager for the ventricular assist device at Ventracor Limited. He
has had experience in project management with Invetech Pty Ltd where he led a team developing a novel product in the histology market. Windeyer has also worked as a mechanical engineer for Cochlear Limited, after graduating with a degree in Mechatronic Engineering from the University of Sydney.

The new COO will be located at the Sunshine Heart facility in St Leonards where he will be responsible for leadership of the growing Sunshine Heart team within Australia. The facility has been upgraded and now includes more specialised engineering laboratories as well as additional offices for management.

Windeyer will report to the CEO, Don Rohrbaugh, who is located at the company's Orange County, California office. He will concentrate on leadership of the Australian operations allowing the CEO to concentrate on strategic relationships and managing the commencement of a first US clinical trial. "I am looking forward to commencing my role within Sunshine Heart" said Victor Windeyer. "It will be very exciting to be part of the team advancing an entirely new form of a heart assist device onto the world market."

"Sunshine Heart is now showing excellent results after more than a year of hard work by the management team," said Chairman, Malcolm McComas. "We have secured a substantial Commercial
Ready grant to meet half the costs of the Australian clinical trials. We have obtained ethics committee
approval from two leading heart centres in Melbourne (Southern Health, Monash Medical Centre and
The Alfred hospital) at which to conduct the Australian arm of the C-Pulse clinical trial."

experienced executives who are keen to lead the C-Pulse clinical trials" said McComas.
