CogState Awarded Patent for Innovative Psychological Testing Techniques

Australian biotech, CogState, has announced the granting of the company's first patent covering it scomputerized neuropsychological testing techniques.
CogState Limited (ASX: CGS) announced today that IP Australia has awarded the company a patent for its "Psychological Testing Method and Apparatus". The patent, number 2001275604, is valid for 20 years dating from July 2001 and represents the first patent issued to the company. A similar patent application is pending in the U.S and internationally.

The award of the patent is strategically important in confirming CogState's approach to computerized neuropsychological testing and covers all widely recognized game playing indicia such as playing cards and dominos. It also covers CogState's use of playing cards to provide test instruction versus culturally dependent verbal instruction. This is especially important for CogState''s global marketing efforts offering standardized and equivalent cognitive testing throughout the world, regardless of language or culture.
