Sunshine Heart Appoints Clinical Affairs Manager

Sydney: Sunshine Heart (ASX: SHC) has appointed Ruth Flynn to the newly created role of Clinical Affairs Manager to progress the company's clinical trial program in Australia and New Zealand.

Chief Executive Officer of Sunshine Heart Inc. Donald Rohrbaugh said: "Ms Flynn is joining the company at an ideal time when clinical trials of the C-Pulse Heart Assist device in Australia are imminent."

Ms Flynn has a strong background in medical device clinical trials including Ventracor's heart failure device and Cochlear's Neopraxis hearing implants. As a qualified nurse, physiotherapist, and researcher she has combined her skills to focus on commercial research.

She has considerable experience in managing clinical affairs. Recently she was involved in developing R&D protocols and providing site support from pre-study visits to initiation of clinical trial sites and ongoing monitoring of numerous sites.

Ms Flynn will be based at Sunshine Heart's head office in St Leonards, Sydney, and will work with Sunshine Heart's Medical Director Dr William Peters. She will manage the multi-centre clinical trials of the C-Pulse implant in Australia and New Zealand.
